How to Delete Your Account
You can request account deletion directly from your account settings. The process is self-service and does not require contacting support.
Steps to Delete Your Account
- Sign in to your Ennyimba account.
- Go to your Dashboard (/u/your-profile) and click Settings in the sidebar.
- Scroll to the Delete Account section and click Request Account Deletion.
- A confirmation email will be sent to your registered email address with a cancellation link.
- Your account will be permanently deleted after a 7-day grace period. You can cancel the request anytime within these 7 days by clicking the link in the email or visiting your Settings page.
What Data Is Deleted
The following data associated with your account is permanently deleted:
- Your profile information (name, email, avatar, slug)
- All posts you authored
- All playlists you created
- All song likes, album likes, and post likes
- All artist follows
- All artist claims and management privileges
- All lyrics corrections you submitted
- All comment reactions (likes/dislikes on comments)
- All post reposts and shares
- All song deletion requests you submitted
- Push notification device registrations
- Session and connection data
What Data Is Retained
The following data is not deleted when your account is removed:
- Comments you posted — These remain on songs, posts, and other content, but your name is replaced with "[deleted]" and the comment is anonymized. This preserves the conversation flow for other users.
- Artists you claimed — Artist profiles remain on the site, but the claim is unlinked from your account. The artist page continues to exist.
Data Retention Period
- Grace period: 7 days after requesting deletion. During this time, you can cancel the request and keep your account fully functional.
- Immediate deactivation: If you choose to deactivate (rather than delete), your account is disabled instantly but can be reactivated by signing in again.
- Final deletion: After the 7-day grace period expires, your account and all deletable data are permanently removed. This process is irreversible.
- Backup retention: Data may persist in our secure backups for up to 30 additional days before being overwritten, in accordance with standard backup rotation practices.
Deactivation (Alternative to Deletion)
If you are unsure about permanently deleting your account, you can deactivate it instead. Deactivation:
- Immediately disables your account
- Prevents you from posting, commenting, or interacting
- Keeps all your data intact
- Can be reversed at any time by signing in again
To deactivate, go to your Settings page and click Deactivate Account.
