'e- (ki/bi) bait; weapon, ekintu ekissi, lethal thing; lethal weapon, cf. tta, ssa.
a- plur. (li/ma) the datura plant. The poisonous drug extracted from the fruit was formerly used in trials by ordeal. Also, because of its intoxicating effect on guinea fowls, it is used as bait to trap these birds. cf. omuduudu.
e- (n/n) long stick with a hook on the end used for grasping things which are out of arm's reach. Kiri ewala, empenduzo ekireeta. (prov.) lit. That which is far, an empenduzo brings it in. To catch a fish one must have the right bait. cf. wendula.
e- (n/n) kindof small animal known for its cleverness; clever/cunning person. Enkerettanyi, bagitega amenvu erya bi- bombo. (prov.) If you bait the trap for a nkerettanyi with bananas, it eats the grass (instead).
