e- as an adv. at intervals, spaced out. with the -a of rel. with spaces between (often used of teeth), amannyo ag'entalaga, teeth with spaces between. Ono wa ntalaga. This person has spaces between his teeth, cf. amatalaga.

derived from the personal name Mannyowenu, a very easygoing general with the -a of rel. of the character of a joke, ne nseka nga nduyita lwa mannyo wenu, and I laughed thinking it (lit. calling it) a joke. Ebyokulwanyisa ebyakozesebwa byali bya mannyo wenu. The arms which were used were ridiculous/playthings/a joke.

amannyo ama- zungu, false teeth, dentures. (Amannyo) agali awamu ge galuma ennyama. (prov.) (Teeth) which are together bite the meat. In unity there is strength, cf. akannyo, olunnyo, olunnyonnyo.

o- (mu/ba) person, human being, man; in the plur. abantu people, omuntu obuntu, an ordinary person, the average person, a mere mortal, mu bifo by'abantu bonna, in public places. Bantu mannyo ga mpisi, gaseka kungulu, nga munda mu- limu bussi. (prov.) People are like the teeth of hyenas which outwardly are laughing, but on the inside are filled with murder, cf. obuntu.
