It implies a preceding bintu, things, affairs, matters, obusuubuzi, trade; eby'obusuubuzi, trading matters/affairs, okulya, to eat; ebyokulya, food. The singular ekya is used in a similar manner.

e- (ki/bi) floating vegetable matter that forms obstructive masses in a body of water.

e- (ki/bi) usually plur. pus formation in a sore eye; matter which accumulates in the eyes during sleep; colloq. miserable, hateful wretch, \bantu abaali eyo ow'enjo- gcra in hi ug'abayiia binyinyi. Tnere were an enormous number of people there, lit. one who uses bad language would call them binyinyi. cf. akanyinyi.

stop, come to an end, go as far as, reach. Wakoma wa? How far did you get/go? Awo we nkomye. That is all. That is all I have to say (said after recounting an event or story). Nkomye. I have had enough (said when declining an additional portion of food). Yakoma. She has stopped bearing children, kukoma awo, to stop, let matters rest. Erinnya Kayaga lyakomanga ku bawala bokka. The name Kayaga was restricted to girls. Note the additional meanings 0/koma with the enclitics.

a- adv. badly; wrongly. Ebigambo biyinza okugenda amancoolo. Matters may go badly.

a- adv. quickly; soon; at once; early, ensonga ez'amangu, urgent matters, amangu nga bwe kisoboka, as soon as possible, amangu ddala nga, just as soon as. mangu ago, immediately, at once. cf. -yangu, amangwago.

o- (mu/mi) spirit, soul; temperament; mind; fig. heart, eby'omwoyo, spiritual matters, spiritual affairs. Mwoyo Mutuukiri- vu, the Holy Spirit, okusoma n'omwoyo ogumu, to read with care/carefully. Saalimu mwoyo. I was depressed/disspirited. Eki- tongole kijja kussaako omwoyo okufuna ente ennungi. The Department will do its best/ will make a great effort to get good cattle. Kyenkana okugamba nti..., It is the same as saying/it is equivalent to saying... Amala gavuga kyenkana nga bwe yandibadde omu ku nsi. He drives just as if he were the only person on earth. okwenkana inf.

to quarrel/struggle with a person, okukutuka ekiwalaata, to develop baldness. Obuguzi bukutuka. The deal is settled. The matter is concluded.

o- (mu/mi) with the -a of rel. minor, insignificant, (something) which can be taken lightly. Ebyo si bya mulendo. These are not minor matters, cf. lendera.

Omuwala atudde gumuli wamu. The girl is calm/contented/unworried (gu- implies mwoyo, heart, i.e., her heart is in one place).
