e- (ki/bi) darkness; secrecy. 05 an adv. at an unusually late hour. Buli bye bakola babikolera eyo mu kibundugulu nze tebambuulira. Everything they do, they do in secrecy (or darkness) and don't tell me about it.

adj. each, every, kiisi mulenzi yenna ayagala okugula ekitabo, any boy at all who wishes to buy the book.

e- (ki/bi) banquet, feast; meal to which one is invited. Taggwa ku bijjulo. He never misses an event (banquet, sports event, etc.). He goes to everything. cf. ^jjula.

e- (plur. ebimu) numer. one (in the plur. some). Used with nouns of the ki/bi class or when no specific noun is referred to. buli kimu, everything, kye kimu, the same (thing), in the same way/manner. Ekyo kye k imu n'okugamba nti toogende. This is the same thing as saying that you will not go. okussa ekimu, to be in agreement; to receive Holy Communion, lit. to breathe (as) one. cf. ^-mu.

e- numer. (li/ma) ten. with the -a of rel. tenth, ekitabo eky'ekkumi, the tenth book. Ekkumi terikyawa omu. (prov.) Ten do not hate one. No one is hated by everybody. cf. -kumi.

I will die recounting it. Amulojja temumala. He is really amazed at him (in either a good or bad sense). Buli omu alulojja bubwe. Everyone tells it/describes it from his own point of view (said when different people give different reports of the same incident).

o- (lu/n) long arm. olukono lw'en- nyanja, inlet, estuary, okusimba olukono, to lean on the arms with palms out-stretched; to sit doing nothing expecting others to do everything for one. cf. omukono.

etc.; hurt with/by; injure; worry; disappoint. Ekyo kinnumya nnyo omwoyo. This worries me a great deal, ebigezo ebyalumya buli oma ogw'engulu, very difficult examinations, lit. which made everyone bite the upper (lip, omumwa implied).

o- (lu/n) long head, kwetikka lutwe, to put the blame on, accuse falsely, kutwala lutwe, to accuse, blame, ab'olutwe olusuffu, scapegoats, those who get blamed for everything, cf. omutwe.

a- plur. (li/ma) wisdom; knowledge; device, stratagem; advice; wit; skill, amagezi ga bnlijjo, common sense, everyday knowledge, omuwi w'amagezi, advisor, okusala amagezi, to devise a plan. Yasa- langa gonna (gonna here = amagezi gonna). He used every expedient. He did everything he could. Amagezi tegaba g'omu. (prov.) Wisdom/cleverness is not the monopoly of one person. Why did you strike him so much/to that extent? kyenkana, lit. it is equal, often used as an adv., equally, in the same manner. Kyenkana okugamba nti..., It is the same as saying/it is equivalent to saying... Amala gavuga kyenkana nga bwe yandibadde omu ku nsi. He drives just as if he were the only person on earth. okwenkana inf.

Let's take things easy, everything will be straightened out. ku- tereera bubya, to sit like a dish, i.e., to sit doing nothing, sit like a bump on a log.

find fault; harp on; harken back (to the past), abantu abanonooza bull kantu, people who make a big fuss and find all sorts of objections to every little thing; people who see the actions of lubaales and spirits in every little thing.
