a- (ka/bu) pleasant smell, fragrant odor, aroma; perfume. Ayogeza kawoowo. He speaks pleasingly. His voice has a pleasant sound, eddoboozi ery'akawoowo, a pleasant/attractive voice, cf. eggwoowo.

e- (ki/bi) large umbelliferous plant (Peucedanum grantii) from which nseke (straws, pipestems, etc.) are made. cf. oluseke.

o- (lu/n) metal wire, oluuma olubaka, aerial (of a radio or television set). abajja bagoba oluuma, immigrant workers, lit. those who come following the telephone cable lines, cf. ekyuma.

e- (n/n) way of projecting/striking out. with u'te -a of re'l. projecting; fig. obvious, apparent, eky'okulabirako eky'en- kukunala, a striking example, obulimba obw'enkukunala, flagrant lying, a glaring bit of deception. Kya nkukunala nti..., It is obvious/apparent that... cf. kukunala.

one who comes. Sserwajja okwota, lukiza nnyinimu entannama. (prov.) The one who comes and warms himself at the fire prevents the owner of the house from squatting down fat the fire), sserwajjo- kwota (la) stranger; foreigner, immigrant.

o- trap; bow; fig. trap, snare, pitfall. Akateeyanira ke kafa omutego. (prov.) lit. (The little animal) which does not cry out dies in the trap. Survival is granted only to those who fight for it. cf. tega, obutego.

v.i. be a vagrant; move from place to place; be supported by other people.

o- (mu/ba) tenant; temporary resident; newcomer, recent inhabitant; emigrant; new member; servant. Basenze were originally people who lived on the private lands of a chief for whom they worked or fought in exchange for the land which they tenanted, cf. Isenga.
