e- (ki/bi) grass, n'ekisubi ku liiso, unprepared (of persons), okutwala n'ekisubi ku liiso, to hustle (someone) away. cf. essubi.

o- (lu/n) with the -a of rel. hay- colored. Enkoko ya lusubi. The fowl is hay-colored, cf. essubi.

e- (n/n) corpse, enjole y'essubi, bundle of grass, okunyeenya ku galiba enjole, colloq. to dance, lit. to shake some of (the bones, amagumba is implied) which will become a corpse.

e- (n/n) okulnma ensubi, to grind the teeth. cf. essubi.

o- (mu/mi) lizard, kusindikira munya mu ssubi, to tell a person to do something he wants to do anyway, lit. to push a lizard into the grass, cf. ekinya.

incite, induce, ku- sindika kyasi, to fire a shot, kusindika busaale, to shoot arrows, kusindika munya mu ssubi, lit. to push a lizard into the grass; also kusindika mwana wa jjajja we; lit. to send a child to his grandparent's. both expressions mean to tell someone to do something which he would be happy to do anyway.

o- (mu/mi) large amount of grass; grassy area, okwokya omusubi, to run away; to race away at great speed (of a vehicle), lit. burn the grass, okumalamu omusubi, to flee, run away, okukuba omusubi, to strike the air (when using a stick); to miss the target, fail in one's aim. cf. essubi.

creep away; glide away. lyemululira mu ssubi. The large snake slipped away in the grass, kwemulula ng'omusota, sneak away, move stealthily to escape detection, lit. like a snake. cf. -ewulula.
