a- (bu/-) youth (a period in life). Also the plural of akavubuka, small youth, slender young person, cf. vubuka.

e- (n/n) youth, lit. lacking (bula) beard on the chin (kalevu). also as an invar, adj. omulenzi embulakalevu, youth.

to neglect, pay no attention to. Ensi eno tesaanidde kusuula miti gyayo mito muguluka. This country should not neglect its youth, lit. young trees.

e- no plur. (li/ma) ashes. Olwa Vvu, Ash Wednesday, kukuba vvu, to be scornful, scorn. Tonkubira vvu. Don't treat me scornfully. Omuvubuka yagudde ekigwo eggulo, kati vvu. The youth had a fall yesterday and now he is dead, lit. ashes. Oba tolina ky'oyogera nuuna ku vvu. Stop telling me that nonsense, lit. if you have nothing to say, suck on ashes, cf. kivuvu, oluvu.

yeeyereza (-yeeyerezza) v.tr. appl. 2 caus. continually harp on; taunt, mock, ridicule, ebyo ebisiiba biyeeyezebwa, these things which are being discussed time and again. Mu buto banne baamuyee- yerezanga. In his youth his comrades used to taunt him all the time.

o- (mu/ba) boy, youth. cf. obulenzi, eddenzi.

o- (mu/ba) youth, young man; young person, cf. vubuka.

o- with the -a of rel. tall, of good build, evvubuka ery'omusituka, a big strapping youth, cf. situka.

o- (mu/mi) kind of fishing basket with which to trap fish. Ssemuto w'attira eggege w'azza omuya. (prov.) The youth brings back his fishing basket to the place where he caught a large ngege (type of fish).
